Rovereto e dintorni
Written by gabrielemargon

Rovereto is now an important tourist and cultural center of the Trentino. It houses one of the largest museums of contemporary art in Italy, the MART and, thanks to the presence of the Peace Bell is, for many years, the City of Peace. In addition to these two institutions, other museums and is home to cultural events and is situated a short distance from Lake Garda (20 km) and is surrounded by places of winter and summer excursions, such as Brentwood and Folgaria.

Near Rovereto, in the municipality of Trambileno, in the valley along the River Leno, is perched on a wall overlooking the river itself, the Hermitage of St. Columban.

Rovereto (204 m) is the capital of the Community of Vallagarina of Trentino, and the main center of the valley, located in the southern region. Vallagarina, characterized by large expanses of vineyards, is crossed by the Adige River, once a significant commercial axis between the Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, wood and goods were transported by rafts along the river. From the city to the east of the valley begin Terragnolo and Vallarsa, traveled by river Leno: Rovereto lies just above the dam site of St Columba, which has allowed the creation of a small lake basin, Lake St. Columban, dominated homonymous chapel.

The most important peaks in the vicinity of Mount Stivo Rovereto (2059 m), which is home to the Refuge Marchetti (and where you can also see the Lake Garda), Mount Zugna (1864 m), Mount Finonchio ( 1603 m.) and Mount Biaena (1615 m). There are many ski resorts within easy reach Rovereto Folgaria Fund, Small, Large Fund, Passo Coe, wrists, and Valentine's Day. A "green lung" of the city is the so-called "forest city", a woodland paths and well equipped with guided trails for the sport, as well as benches located in scenic points from which you can see all of Rovereto.
